Medical Supermarket visited the Emsworth Surgery to understand the customers buying habits including: how the orders are placed, the importance placed on branded products, the volume of orders and types of products purchased. Armed with this information and a selection of invoices, Medical Supermarket completed a full tender analysis to determine the savings opportunity available to the surgery. Medical Supermarket reviewed over 100 lines and compared like for like products and services. Within 5 working days, Medical Supermarket was available to present a saving of 33% across a range of categories including; stationery, housekeeping, medical supplies and pharmacy.
Implementation…
On approval of the savings, Medical Supermarket allocated each order placer within the surgery a user name and password. Telephone training sessions were then undertaken with these members of staff so they were familiar with the ways they can order. These sessions were also used to introduce the staff to their day to day contact. One member of staff preferred to order by fax, so Medical Supermarket designed a unique order form for her so that she could tick the quantity of the products she required and fax it to us instead.
Result…
The surgery now purchases all consumables from Medical Supermarket ensuring they save money across all categories as well as reducing the time they spend on ordering and processing invoices. As this surgery has used Medical Supermarket exclusively, they have been awarded with free delivery for every single order.
