Pauline Hallam from Adam Practice: Upton Site wins Practice Hero

Pauline Hallum, a Patient Services Clerk at the Adam Practice: Upton site has has won February 2013's ‘Practice Hero’ award. The competition set up by www.medical-supermarket.com to celebrate the unsung heroes of GP Practices across the UK. The Adam Practice is by no means a small surgery, serving over 31,500 patients across 4 sites. This is one surgery that needs a keen eye for detail and an efficient control over their purchasing to ensure everything runs like clock work.

Speaking about the award, Christina Cleworth , Practice Business Manager, said: "This talented and determined lady has risen to the challenge of a recent new Business Manager introducing robust ordering and auditing systems. She has responsibility for everything from ordering toilet rolls to very expensive drugs, with the remit of ensuring that the former practice of gross over ordering is eradicated. Ensuring sufficient stock is available across all sites is a substantial challenge and one not appreciated by many other staff! .”

Udhi Silva, Director at www.medical-supermarket.com said: “It’s fantastic news that Pauline is our latest Practice Hero award winner. She's a shining example of the great work people do behind the scenes in surgeries to keep them running. We are delighted to see that her hard work hasn't gone unnoticed and that her whole surgery were behind her winning this award"
