Zero tolerance for modern slavery
We supply the NHS, GP surgeries, care homes, pharmacies, clinics and schools. They trust us to source responsibly, so we work to keep slavery, forced labour and human trafficking out of our business and supply chain.
Policy statement
Modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking. ProCure Health Limited, trading as Medical Supermarket (registered in England and Wales, company number 7305206), has a zero-tolerance approach to it.
We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We put in place effective systems and controls to make sure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains. This policy reflects our commitment under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to everyone who works for us or on our behalf, including:
- Directors, employees and temporary staff
- Agency workers, contractors and consultants
- Suppliers, manufacturers and service partners
- Couriers and logistics providers
Our business and supply chain
Medical Supermarket is a UK business-to-business supplier of medical consumables, equipment, furniture, janitorial products, stationery and practice services. We operate from Stocklake Park in Aylesbury.
We buy from established manufacturers, brand owners and UK distributors. Many products are made overseas, so we pay closest attention to the parts of our supply chain where the risk is highest.
Where the risks are
We treat these product categories as higher risk and give them extra scrutiny:
We also recognise that agency labour, cleaning services and logistics can carry risks within the UK.
Supplier due diligence
- We expect every supplier to meet the standards in this policy and to apply them to their own suppliers
- We favour suppliers who publish a modern slavery statement or hold NHS framework approval
- We ask higher-risk suppliers for evidence of ethical sourcing, such as audits or certifications
- We can ask for corrective action, and we will stop working with suppliers who do not meet our standards
Our own people
- We check every employee's right to work in the UK
- We pay at least the National Living Wage
- We never charge workers recruitment fees or hold their identity documents
- We only use reputable, UK-registered recruitment agencies
- Everyone has a written contract, and they are free to leave their job
Training and awareness
Staff who choose suppliers or manage our warehouse and agency workers learn how to spot the signs of modern slavery and what to do about them. Everyone who joins us reads this policy as part of their induction.
Responsibility and review
Our directors are responsible for this policy and for making sure we follow it. We review the policy every year, and whenever our business or supply chain changes significantly.
Anyone who breaches this policy may face disciplinary action. Suppliers who breach it may lose their contract.
Report a concern
If you suspect modern slavery in our business or our supply chain, tell us straight away. You can raise a concern in confidence, and we will never treat anyone unfairly for reporting a concern in good faith.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
This policy was approved by the Board of Directors of ProCure Health Limited in October 2026. We will review it again by October 2027.
