PAT testing and calibration: frequently asked questions

How often should medical equipment be calibrated?

Usually at least once a year, or as the manufacturer recommends, to keep readings accurate and equipment safe to use.

How often does a GP surgery need PAT testing?

There’s no fixed legal interval. HSE guidance recommends a risk-based approach, and many practices test annually.

Does it help with CQC inspections?

Yes. CQC expects equipment to be safe and maintained, and your digital certificates and inventory give you clear evidence.

Can you service fridges and couches too?

Yes, at a reduced price when added to your calibration and PAT testing visit, or as a standalone visit.
