BD Vacutainer EDTA tubes are used to obtain a whole blood or EDTA plasma sample. The tubes are available in a range of sizes and can be identified by a lavender cap. Generally, K2 or K3 Potassium Salt of EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic acid) is used as an anticoagulant.K3EDTA is a liquid solution in the BD Vacutainer® tubes.
